Creativity in Older Age: Musicians on Call

Musicians on Call is a project where professionally trained musicians from Kids Classics work in healthcare settings, to connect music-making opportunities to residents and healthcare staff in nursing homes and community hospitals.

This project will be led by Limerick Culture and Arts Office in collaboration with Age Friendly Limerick and Healthy Limerick. It is delivered in partnership with Artistic Partner Kids Classics, the Health Service Executive (HSE) and Clare and Tipperary County Councils.

There will be 12 visits to 2 nursing homes in Limerick (offering live and virtual visit options) and a set of taster sessions in Clare and North Tipperary to an additional 7 settings. This will promote health and well-being by improving the quality of life and cultural access for those who live and work in Healthcare settings and bring high-quality live music to vulnerable older members of our communities living in nursing homes, and their carers, in a way that is more than an outside-in audio live broadcast, driven by equity of experience for all, and a shared social experience.

The open call for music making opportunities went live on Friday April 30th and will close on Monday May 10th. Please follow the link below for further information;
