Drumadóireacht agus Ceol
Celebrating the story of the Irish language in Carlow and championing the community that keeps it alive. Drumadóireacht agus Ceol combines rhythm, movement and song through Irish and English.
Carlow’s rich heritage includes the extraordinary story of the Irish language in the town and county. From small beginnings, efforts spanning fifty years, have seen the building of two schools and the development of a population for whom the Irish language is a natural part of life.
Drumadóireacht agus Ceol celebrates the story of the Irish language in Carlow while fostering creativity and fun. Four musicians will create opportunities for people to play music, to drum and to do it through Irish and English.
Drumadóireacht agus Ceol will happen in Carlow’s Coláiste Samhraidh over three afternoons; in An Gairdín Beo, Carlow’s beautiful community garden during their coffee morning in sunshine; in the Éire Óg Club House with Carlow’s high-energy Ukelele Players; in Tully’s Bar at relaxed session and in Lambert’s - Carlow’s bi-lingual Coffee Shop at the Ciorcal Gaeilge
