To commemorate the bicentenary of Quaker, Elizabeth Fry’s tour of Irish prisons, focusing on prison conditions and prisoner welfare. During her tour of Ireland, she visited County Roscommon, including the towns of Boyle, Roscommon, and Ballymurray, Roscommon County Library will facilitate the hosting of a 2 day symposium on Elizabeth Fry and Prison reform through the arts and crafts. Roscommon Library will collaborate with Roscommon Archaeological and Historical Society, The Society of Friends of Ireland, Roscommon County Council, Heritage and Arts Officers in supporting this event.
