'Folk-lure' is a new multi-disciplinary participatory arts programme for older people, where by professional artists from Sligo Arts Service will work with Age Friendly Sligo, to develop a new multi-disciplinary participatory arts programme for older people.

A panel of professional artists & practitioners to deliver the programme throughout 2026, in 2 strands: The first in healthcare settings (residential & day- care), and the second would involve the wider community. 

The initial stages will involve establishment of a Creative Council (for consultation with representatives from older people’s advocacy groups locally) and a new Artist Panel to work on the development.   Two artists will undertake a three month residency in two care settings and will also deliver six workshops to healthcare workers focussing on different areas, using the varied skills of the panel: Music, Poetry, Writing, Visual Art, Photography, Drama.  There would also be a pop-up arts programme and a collaborative community strand.
