The Forget Me Not Choir offers an inclusive, welcoming space for people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, additional needs, and members of the wider community. Meeting twice monthly, the choir focuses on familiar songs, gentle harmonies, rhythm, and participation for all, supported by a community music facilitator and accompanist. The emphasis is on enjoyment, connection, and wellbeing rather than performance.

This project will build on the choir’s established work while introducing an outreach strand to increase access across the county. Alongside the regular sessions, additional outreach workshops will take place in community settings—such as day centres, residential homes, and local groups—reaching individuals who may face mobility or transport barriers. These sessions will mirror the choir’s inclusive, participatory approach, using singing, light percussion, and interactive music-making.

Together, the core choir and outreach programme will broaden access to communal music-making, reduce isolation, and support inclusive cultural participation throughout Roscommon.
