From Page to Stage: Exploring Theatre Through Text and Movement is a new initiative by the Breffni Players aimed at uniting both new and experienced members of the Carrick-on-Shannon community through drama. These inclusive workshops will offer participants the chance to explore acting, movement, and storytelling in a creative and supportive environment.

Led by professional practitioners Declan Drohan (Lecturer in Performing Arts, ATU Sligo, Chekhov Technique teacher, and Drama Festival adjudicator) and Dr. Rhona Trench (Programme Chair of Performing Arts at ATU Sligo and Vice President of the Irish Society for Theatre Research), the sessions will guide participants through the full creative process—from script to stage.

The project also supports emerging writers, offering a platform to develop original work and see it performed. Emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and inclusion, the workshops will use minimal or repurposed materials and welcome participants of all backgrounds and experience levels.

By fostering creativity, confidence, and collaboration, From Page to Stage aims to strengthen the local drama community and celebrate the power of live performance.
