“Goldsmith Live” Family Day

Following three very successful events in 2022, 2023 and 2024 for our 41st festival we will commission a specially written and performed musical performance based on music and song from Goldsmith’s life & works. This performance will be the centrepiece of a family day comprising chamber music, poetry readings, food, drinks, stalls, visiting celebrities all set in a themed and designed 18th century village setting. The musical performance play will be written and performed by noted theatre producer and actor, Michael J. Ford. It will run for 70 minutes and involve a high level if production values including sound, setting costume and lights.

It will take place on a specially designed stage in a covered outdoor setting. This allows for a very relaxed yet intimate experience for the audience as they can enjoy the presentation from a standing or sitting position.

The Goldsmith Family day has allowed the Goldsmith Festival to reach a whole new audience and has allowed us to introduce Goldsmith life and works in a completely different environment. Our event is unique in that it includes live outdoor costumed drama combined with a classical music presentation. The last three years have been extremely successful and we intend to build on that success with an expanded and improved programme for 2025.
