Helium Arts Summer Art Camp
Building on the success of last year’s initiative, this creative project brings a vibrant summer art programme to Lough Lannagh Leisure Centre, Castlebar. Designed for children aged 8–12 living with lifelong physical health conditions, the programme offers six immersive art workshops over three days in July. Each session welcomes 6–8 participants, providing a safe, inclusive space for creativity, connection, and joy.
Delivered by Helium Arts, the project supports children who often face isolation, anxiety, and limited opportunities for social engagement.
In Ireland, over 156,000 children live with long-term health conditions. For many, this programme is one of the few activities outside of hospital and school that offers a sense of belonging and creative expression.
