Heritage Craft Creative Workshop Programme
This project opens the door to heritage and creativity by providing the local community with hands-on access to traditional crafts and the skilled craftspeople who keep them alive. Through a series of workshops and live demonstrations, local artists and makers will showcase sustainable and heritage-based creative practices, offering participants the chance to learn, engage, and create.
Designed to support and celebrate the work of local craftspeople, the programme will highlight the value of traditional skills—from weaving and woodwork to natural dyeing and handcrafting—while encouraging the sharing of knowledge across generations. Community members will be invited to take part in ‘have a go’ sessions, where they can try their hand at various crafts, ask questions, and explore the stories behind the skills.
This initiative not only preserves cultural heritage but also fosters creativity, sustainability, and community connection. By making these crafts visible and accessible, the project strengthens local identity and inspires new appreciation for the artistry rooted in our everyday lives.
