An artistic and educational programme designed for the students of St. Catherine’s Special School, which will see the pupils explore mediums such as clay, cardboard construction, willow, wire, print, fibre/felt and mixed recycled materials, to create sculptural pieces that are inspired by the Little Tern, an endangered bird species in the locality. The theme for the project is an artistic response to the 'Kilcoole Little Terns' with an emphasis on using recycled materials and will involve linking in with Bird Watch Ireland.  Each child will get a chance to experience new art forms and a chance to collaborate with their fellow classmates, as well as explore what mediums they enjoy while also learning about the Little Tern, its habits and habitat.
