dance share — discussions — cross arts play – connect
Join us from 12pm — 5.15pm on Saturday 15 November for a day of dance, discussions and cross arts play in a relaxed inclusive environment. This is an opportunity to unwind, explore and share, and to make new connections in an informal and playful atmosphere.For Links & Bridges, our 5th Moving Together event, Undercurrent director, Kate Wilson will be joined by special guest Lianne Quigley (Dublin theatre of the Deaf). Continuing explorations in extended verbal & non-verbal pathways for diverse practitioners this uniquely inclusive dance event explores connections between Irish Sign Language, gesture, visual vernacular and dance, building shared languages between hearing and deaf participants in a creative movement setting. The event includes ISL interpretation throughout the day.
Along with participatory workshops and group discussions there will be opportunities for reflective writing, drawing and making throughout the day. At the close of the day, we will have a premiere screening of short documentary ‘Creating- From Here, A Bridge’.
Moving Together is a space for making creative connections and for taking time to explore and reflect.
