Lost In The Briars – A Panel Discussion

Lost In The Briars – Untangling Our Thorny Relationship With Irish Brambles, a panel discussion with Eddie Lenihan, Daire Spillane & Thomas Barry.

Why do we battle brambles each year? Once valued for their fruit and folklore, brambles are now seen as invasive nuisances. This panel explores how our relationship with one of Ireland’s most common plants has changed, and how we might reconnect with its ecological and cultural significance.

Part of the Lost In The Briars series, this event blends eco-psychology and folklore to reimagine our connection to the bramble. Hosted by artist John Lillis, the discussion features storyteller Eddie Lenihan (Crusheen), gardener Daire Spillane (Ennistymon), and horticulturist Thomas Barry (Clouna), and takes place in the barn at Pot Duggans, Ennistymon.

Free to attend, with complimentary blackberry tart and cream prepared by local volunteers. All are welcome. For more information go to: https://www.instagram.com/p/DM98S7Osi6k/?igsh=dzZzZjJ3OXVkenA2
