Recovery of a Famine Village

Recovery of a Famine Village: Clare Museum and Clare County Archives will head up a project that will utilise their resources to engage with the community for the development of an authentic heritage experience.  A famine village will be identified and over a period of five years, targeted excavations will be conducted to shed light on life in mid-19th century Clare.  A multi-disciplinary approach to research and interpretation will involve community groups.  A radar scan survey will be carried out on the potential site in 2019 and a test trench excavation organised for August to determine future areas for investigation.
