RMC - Choral Creativity Workshops with a Community Arts Collaboration
Building on the success of their 2025 Creative Roscommon–supported workshops, Roscommon Men's Choir will deepen musical development while introducing a new Creative Schools Engagement Project, fostering stronger intergenerational creative connections across the county.
The choir will continue working with musical director Duncan Brickenden, alongside additional workshops led by local musicians Conor Harkins and Ciaran Cunningham. Together, they will deliver high‑quality sessions in vocal technique, harmony, and performance for choir members and emerging musical leaders.
A key new strand of the programme involves partnering with local schools. Each participating school will select a song from the choir’s shared set list and create a visual artwork, digital piece, animation, or mixed‑media response inspired by it. These creations will be curated into a collaborative showcase, forming the backdrop for a special live performance later in the year.
The final event—planned for Roscommon Arts Centre—will bring together choral music and youth creativity, celebrating Roscommon’s cultural vibrancy and giving young artists a public platform. This initiative strengthens community pride, enhances visibility for emerging creatives, and broadens participation in the arts for children and young people across the county.
