Rural Connections project works with five community venues across County Wexford, including Marshalstown Community Centre, Ballyfad Community Centre, The Bank Community and Enterprise Hub in Rosslare, Castlebridge Community Hall and The Colclough Memorial Hall in Saltmills. As per our Culture and Creativity strategy, this project aims to enhance communication and maximise the impact of cultural activity in these rural venues. 

Two artists have been twinned with each venue, and, through creative workshops will explore with the local communities how:

1. Further engagement with culture and creative opportunities can occur;
2. Information about events can be shared more easily;
3. A programme of artist and creative in-person meet ups might work for the venue;
4. Transport can be resourced so that it is not a barrier for participation in cultural activities.

The artists will help the communities to form a creative response to these questions. A sharing event between the five communities will take place in November 2025. Seed funding will then be awarded to each community to take one of the ideas forward.
