Shared Landscapes: Community Responses to Roderic O’Conor
Working with Roscommon Artist Laura Earley, this project brings a series of artist-led creative workshops to The Melting Pot in Roscommon town, supporting vulnerable adults through inclusive, process-led arts engagement. Inspired by the life and work of Roscommon-born artist Roderic O’Conor, participants will explore colour, landscape, and expressive mark‑making while creating artworks rooted in their own sense of place. Using photography of local landmarks such as Roscommon Castle as a starting point, the workshops will encourage new skills, confidence, and connection through painting and textile-based approaches. Ongoing research into O’Conor’s artistic legacy will inform the project, with potential for public engagement through a library-based talk or workshop. Celebrating cultural heritage while fostering creativity and belonging, the project will culminate in participant-created artworks and documentation of the creative process.
