Social Prescribing Creative Engagement
In 2025 Cork County Council, the National Family Resource Centre Mental Health project which manages the social prescribing service in Cork, and the HSE via the Health Promotion and Improvement art and culture portfolio will deliver a Social Prescribing Creative Engagement project.
Cork County Council will work with five social prescribing networks in:
- CAHA Centre Adrigole
- Dunmanway Family Resource Centre
- Mallow Family Resource Centre
- Midleton Family Resource Centre
- Ballincollig Family Resource Centre with outreach in Macroom
In each location the Link Workers will engage with the Arts Office to programme 6 workshops with a professional artist. The aim is to deliver a series of workshops which will lead in to established activity in the area. In Mallow, for example, there will be six weeks of percussion workshops. Participants will be encouraged to bring their newly learned skills to the Community Music Group.
