Now in its 11th year, Sparks Youth Film Festival continues to light up East Clare with creativity, imagination, and opportunity. 

Rooted in the heart of the community, Sparks brings the magic of filmmaking and animation directly to young people through a dynamic programme of workshops and events. Sparks is a youth-led film festival that reaches over 100 young people each year, offering them the chance to create their own short films and animations. The festival begins in early autumn with a series of in-school workshops delivered in partnership with local primary and secondary schools. 

Halloween Festival Week

The excitement continues during the Halloween midterm break, when Sparks hosts a week-long celebration at the Edna O'Brien Library, Scariff. This includes:

• A variety of film and animation workshops
• Opportunities to collaborate and create with peers
• A final screening event where families and friends are invited to view all the incredible work produced since September
