THE EXTREMELY ONLINE ENSEMBLE WITH OWEN KILFEATHER

Calling all musicians and music lovers between the ages of 9 and 12: The Extremely Online Ensemble is an interactive music workshop that blends composition, improvisation and serious fun – whether you’ve been playing for ages or you’ve never played a note before, everyone is invited! We’ll be using a fantastic new online music-maker, so you don’t even need an instrument; all you need on the day is a desire to play music with others and express yourself.

The workshop is facilitated by Owen Kilfeather. Owen is a composer, writer and filmmaker from County Sligo. He has been involved in the composition, production and interpretation of some twenty albums, as house composer-producer for Barcelona-based avant-music label Discordian Records and Tiamat theatre company, and as interpreter for chamber choir ARSinNOVA and Gamelan Penempaan Guntur, the first Spanish gamelan ensemble. He currently plays with/writes for Miss Foreign Affairs, Ensemble PMV and Gulpt, and has also worked as a theatre tech, bookseller, storyteller, teacher, translator and sea turtle hospital staffer.

Participants will be introduced to and use an online app called Chrome Music Lab – this is a free app and does not require to be downloaded to your device i.e. it works in your chosen browser.
