St Joseph's Creative Outdoor Space
The residents of St Joseph's, a Council-run housing development for older adults, will be working with an artist and horticulturist to create a creative outdoor space where the group can congregate and appreciate nature together.
Together, they will learn about the natural biodiversity of the site they live on - and how to harness this in a way that serves both the environment and the engagement needs of residents. This project will ask residents what outdoor space means to a community, and how creativity can be weaved into that space to make it not just a place for observation, but a place for connection and creative spark.
This will very much be a community-led initiative, with the residents committee in the building taking the lead on surveying residents and liaising with the artist and horticulturist. The outcomes are yet to reveal themselves!
