This project invites 20 adults members of communities in Leixlip, Celbridge, Maynooth and surrounding areas, to explore the embodiment of nature through dance, body movement and painting. Reflecting on climate change, participants will create 20 art pieces for a public exhibition and a collective dance.

This Arts, Health & Wellbeing project is a collaboration between Patty Abozaglo (Laban Dance and Body Movement, Capacitar tutor), Paola Invernizzi (visual artist), and the group ‘Start with Art.’ Established in 2023, the group includes 20 members from China, Peru, France, and Ireland, living in Leixlip, Maynooth, Celbridge, and surrounding areas.  Most members had limited prior engagement with art activities and sought a mindful outlet for creativity and fun in a safe and supportive environment while exploring climate change. The project consists of six one-and-a-half-hour sessions. In the first five, each session introduces a different color, exploring its transcultural meaning and connection to a natural element. Participants will engage with this
element through painting and dance/body movement. The art experience uses pure pigments and various techniques such as roller brushes, sponges, spatulas, brushes, and hands. Visual expression is integrated with body movement through Laban Dance, focusing on body shapes, actions, and effort qualities.
