Stories that Connect: Promising Pages

Promising Pages, Roscommon Town Library Writers’ Group proposes a structured creative development programme comprising six professionally facilitated workshops designed to strengthen participants’ expressive voice, storytelling craft and creative confidence. The initiative builds on the group’s established commitment to disciplined creative practice and aims to deepen
both technical capacity and public engagement within the local cultural landscape.
The programme will engage a professional creative practitioner to deliver two workshops in poetry, two in short-form writing and two in song-based storytelling. Each strand will combine practical craft development with reflective learning. Participants will focus on voice, structure, imagery, rhythm, narrative arc and editing discipline. Emphasis will be placed on moving from draft material to refined, publication-ready work. The workshops will provide a structured but supportive environment in which writers can test ideas, receive constructive feedback and strengthen their individual style.
Approximately 12–15 adult participants will take part. Participation will be open to existing members of the Writers’ Group as well as new writers from the wider Roscommon community.
