The Ballaghaderreen Human Library is an interactive storytelling event that brings together young people and older community members to share lived experiences, challenge stereotypes, and celebrate the town’s rich social history. Led by artist Tuesday Whitfield in collaboration with the Towns Team and Creative Places Ballaghaderreen, students from St. Nathy’s will learn interview skills and help shape the questions used to “borrow” a local person for an open conversation.

Hosted across the Community Resource Centre and Ballaghaderreen Library, the event fosters connection, inclusion, and cultural understanding through one‑to‑one dialogue. A small booklet documenting the project will be created and shared with the community, leaving a lasting legacy of creativity, empathy, and intergenerational exchange.
