This initiative aims to develop Irish language interpretation for Clonegal by producing high-quality audio and video content. The project seeks to enrich local storytelling, preserve cultural heritage, and promote the Irish language by actively involving the community in the creation process.

This project will build on the existing Town & Village initiative, which is being implemented in collaboration with Weavers Cottage, Carlow County Council, Carlow Tourism, and the wider Clonegal community. As part of this effort, the Irish language will be incorporated into the village’s audio trail, which is currently being developed under the scheme.

A key element of the project is a community-facilitated workshop, where local residents will contribute to the development of stories about Clonegal’s heritage, landmarks, and history, while also highlighting the village’s economic and tourism assets. By integrating the Irish language into this storytelling experience, the project will strengthen cultural identity and create a more immersive experience for visitors.
