The Cure is a psychological horror film that weaves traditional Cavan folklore with the modern struggle of addiction. The story follows Aoife, an insecure smoker desperate to quit, who returns home to Cavan to seek out a reclusive seventh son of a seventh son, Liam Finnegan, renowned for having the gift of ‘The Cure.’ But when Liam’s attempt goes disastrously wrong, Aoife’s addiction takes on a terrifying new form - a sinister, physical creature that feeds on her cravings. As her living addiction tightens its grip, Aoife is forced to confront both the monster before her and the depths of her own dependency. 

With plans to premiere in Cavan Town Hall and then national and international film festival circuits, this film aims to entertain audiences locally, nationally and abroad, as well as shine a light on addiction, its psychological grip, and the struggles of those trying to break free.
