With additional funding support we could further develop the Theatre in Education project in Sligo and have identified 10 schools for the pilot project. The additional funding would allow us to hold a workshop series in these schools this Autumn with a writer and 2 workshop facilitators. 

The objective of these workshops would be to develop ideas to create for a theatre show for schools based on The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. At the completion of this series of workshops the ideas created by the children will be collated and used as the framework for the writing and making of the show next year which will then visit the 10 original schools. 

What we want to achieve using this approach is that the children will recognise their own ideas when they see the show, creating a sense of ownership, as well as learning how to create stories with each other through the medium of theatre.
