This collaborative R&D project will produce a roadmap and initial script for Timeweavers: an inclusive, multi-sensory music theatre work in English and Irish.  It will be tailor-made for accessible, affordable local venues (e.g. rural community halls), and suitable for audiences of all ages and abilities. 

Timeweavers addresses three urgent access needs for Creative Wellbeing: ambitious, high-quality music theatre in accessible rural spaces; relaxed performances suitable for multi-generational audiences with diverse sensory needs; and opportunities for everyone to participate in making music and moving together, regardless of their physical or technical ability. The project also addresses a wellbeing need for the creatives involved — making a sustainable, resilient work that can be performed in small venues, without being reliant on additional funding for its ongoing existence.

Through a ‘music as time travel’ narrative, Timeweavers will celebrate how folk music travels and transforms through time and space, crossing national, cultural and linguistic borders.
