The Sligo Show is a voluntary run podcast project which aims to showcase a wide range of Sligo’s people, places, businesses and events. The idea for 2026 is to engage the youth of Sligo, via TY classes, to give them an opportunity to experience and learn about TV show/Podcast production. To open the doors of media/TV production to students who may never get the chance. There are many roles in Media/TV which many students may love and they want to see alternative careers whilst creating a fun, creative project as a team. TYTV will run for 6 weeks and help young people produce their own mini 30-60min TV show highlighting creativity in their school and community.
There will be a range of roles which will engage a variety of creative talents and skills. Pupils will get the chance to present and produce their own show. It will include us teaching them how to present to camera, how camera/lights/sound work on such a production. Depending on the resources within each school, we’d love to include set design, art department, costume, hair and makeup as well as graphic design and marketing.
