Hugh Farrell, Tyler Kieffer and Kevin McNamara of Listen and Breathe created the work through a series of in-depth interviews with the caretakers and communities who engage with our forests. The podcast includes original music and conversations with experts in ecology, heritage, biodiversity and forestry. It can be listened to while walking from Ticknock Forest car park to Fairy Castle; the walk takes about an hour. A guided walk with the artists took place in Ticknock in October 2024.
The podcast may be downloaded from the artists’ website (here), via streaming platforms such as Spotify, or via a QR code at the forest carpark. It works as a self-guided walk in the forest and it can also be listened to as a podcast for anyone unable to visit the forest.
Nature and Place is managed by the Arts Office of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. It is supported by the Dublin Mountains Partnership and Coillte.
