Summer Stars Reading Adventure 2025

Let your imagination run wild today and over the summer, as you discover the wonderful world of reading at your local library. Embark on a wonderful journey and see what adventures are in store for you.

Summers Stars is a reading initiative under the national Right to Read campaign, which encourages children to read 8 books over the summer months. Beginning on Wednesday 4th June, the adventure will run to 31st August and joining is free of charge.

To kickstart their reading adventure, each participant is given a log book, to record the books they read, throughout the summer. There are prizes along the way, for books read, as well as a weekly prize draw for children who complete the scavenger hunt, or a colouring sheet in-branch.

A series of in-branch events will also be taking place over the summer to celebrate Summer Stars, including themed craft and storytime sessions, messy play activities, vex robotics and creative art summer camps.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
