No Need To Argue

Award-winning artist and writer Helen Flynn presents "No Need to Argue," an ambitious community arts project celebrating the legacies of Dolores O’Riordan and Sinéad O’Connor. Through 11 workshops, participants will collaboratively create two nine-foot-tall textile tapestries, reflecting on the songwriting, social impact, and bravery of these Irish music legends.

The project will merge traditional textile techniques—Appliqué, Shisha Embroidery, Crochet, Knit, Cross-stitch, and Felting—with contemporary materials like neon threads and mirrored fabrics, creating a modern tribute with deep historical roots. This intergenerational collaboration will unite experienced creatives with young musicians from Music Generation Eastside, fostering dialogue between art, music, and social history.

Inspired by the Dun Emer Guild, the project will also engage stay-at-home mothers and retired community members, celebrating the power of craft, creativity and collective storytelling.
