Geashill Tidy Towns (GTT) has enjoyed an excellent relationship with Geashill National School down through the years resulting in many excellent projects such as The Poet Egan, Carved in Words and Stone which have been supported and funded by Creative Ireland. GTT are always looking for ways to develop an awareness and appreciation of the wide range of artistic, sustainable, biodiverse and architectural elements in the village among the schoolchildren. So; when the illustrative work of Shannon Bergin was brought to our attention we saw a potential pathway. The creation of an illustrated story book was discussed  with the Principal and also with Shannon and agreed on the class group, 4th and 5th, a possible process and a timescale for the project. The children would learn the art of combining words and illustration to best convey an idea or a story and would see their work in print before the end of the school year which has culminated into 'Wild about Geashill' which is launching at Geashill National School on the morning of June 25th 2025.
