Meath Biodiversity Action Plan 2025 – 2030 Short Documentary
The Meath Biodiversity Action Plan 2025 – 2030 is due to be launched in late 2025. Engagement with a broad range of stakeholders has been instrumental in helping build a list of actions for inclusion in the plan. This included an early pre-draft public consultation, facilitating an opportunity for the public to have their say on what they feel are the most important issues that require action in Meath.
The pre-draft public consultation also served as an opportunity for respondents to share their memories and experiences of nature and connection to the outdoors in years gone by. This project proposes the production of a short documentary inspired by these responses.
The short creative piece will revolve around a series of interviews with willing participants, local citizens of Meath, who can tell us their story and their experiences with nature in the past and how they might have been more immersed in the outdoors in their younger years. But also, how generations today are not benefitting from these same experiences, perhaps pointing to the changes that have occurred in our countryside in recent decades and the wildlife and customs that have drifted or have been potentially lost from our lives.
This piece will finish with a glimmer of hope that is offered through the launch of a Biodiversity Action Plan for County Meath and will premiere at the launch of this new plan by Meath County Council before the end of 2025.
