The Kilnamona Community Development Association is thrilled to partner with Evelyn Sorohan-Daly, creative artist and facilitator, on a unique and inspiring Mosaic Mural Project at the Kilnamona Community Centre, taking place throughout Summer and Autumn 2025.

The vibrant mural will commemorate Mike McTigue, a local world-title boxing champion, in whose memory the centre is named. The design will also celebrate the rich culture, heritage, and community spirit of Kilnamona, incorporating symbols and logos from local clubs and organisations that make the area so special.

This collaborative artwork will be a lasting feature in the newly renovated centre— for locals and visitors alike to enjoy during events and gatherings. The project will be documented through:

• A special feature in the annual magazine
• Regular updates on social media
• A set of commemorative postcards
• A special unveiling event in October 2025

Led by Evelyn Sorohan-Daly and supported by the Kilnamona Heritage Keepers and the Community Centre Committee, they will host a series of creative workshops for Adults,Teenagers Children aged 9+

Workshops will include:

• Brainstorming and idea sharing
• Learning mosaic techniques and working with new materials
• Creating personal mosaic frames to take home
• Enjoying light refreshments and community connection

A mix of commercial, recycled, & natural materials—including mosaic tiles, glass, plastic, and locally sourced items.
