The Theme Night Academy will present a free outdoor concert in Cleveragh Park featuring up to twenty young individual performers and bands supported by professional musicians and past academy members. 
The event will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 24th August 2025. The format will facilitate our young people performing in a concert environment, using a free outdoor environment and facilities available to all communities in Sligo.
The Theme Night Academy’s main purpose is to support and encourage young people’s participation and enjoyment of music and music production.
The Theme Night Academy is a participant-led platform for teenagers to create, perform and record music in a professional and safe environment. It was founded in 2014 by Kieran Quinn who is a professional pianist, musical director, and piano teacher. The Academy provides a structure and space where young people can express themselves, develop self-confidence, and thrive through the shared experience of music production and performance.
Young people performing their music, to a public audience, is a central part of their journey with The Theme Night Academy. 
Theme Night Academy events also have a broader impact on the cultural fabric of Sligo. These events bring young people into our municipal gallery and theatre, normalising their interactions with arts organisations at a developmental stage in their lives.
