The aim of this project is to creatively and imaginatively ‘capture the Acoustic Heritage of the city’ – one of the actions outlined in Galway City Council’s Heritage Plan – and through the art of storytelling explore the cultural richness of Galway City through its soundscape. 

A secondary aim of this project is to highlight the importance of the source of sounds within the city and raise awareness of the natural sounds and spaces that surround us with a view to protecting this intangible asset. 

We have engaged well-known musician and storyteller Aindrias Stack and expert acoustician Eugene McKeown to collaborate on a three-part podcast mini-series that captures the sounds of what makes Galway Galway through music and storytelling.
