A lively group of children between the ages of 8 to 14yrs attend various book clubs on Saturday afternoons in the library.  

This age group are interested and excited by books, however, from 13 years onwards young adults tend to fall away from reading and we want to inspire these young readers to stay involved with books.   

Sessions with an illustrator would empower the children to realise that they could write and illustrate books themselves.  

The illustrator will speak about their own creative journey and work with the children on their own storylines through illustration. The idea is that the illustrator works with mixed materials so that children learn that you don’t necessarily need to be a gifted artist to illustrate your story.
