The Sligo Artist Network was set up in 2019 through Creative Ireland (Sligo) funding.  The Sligo Artist Network is a network/ group made up of a range of creatives from Co Sligo/ North West. Visual artist and Arts Participation/CPD Programme Co- ordinator /Administer Catherine Fanning oversees the network management and co- ordination. 
Catherine invites creatives to join the network via a Facebook Group. Catherine manages approval of membership requests FB posts researches upcoming opportunities such as exhibition open calls, funding open calls and artist talks etc. Catherine links with organisations to share opportunities and assists creatives to work together, to support, mentor each other and promote creative communities in Sligo.

During 2025 the Network would like to continue to support Sligo creatives through the Network Facebook Group with the sharing of news, events and opportunities about, with and for Artists, Creatives, Arts & Cultural Organisations and Venues

The Network would also like to support and assist the networking art practice of creatives by organising a ‘Creative Gathering Event’ in early 2025 in line with the Brid Festival Sligo. The structure and focus of the event will come from the feedback gathered from creatives via the Network Fb group.
