A series of weaving workshops and talks focused on different aspects of weaving, and based around woven fabrics made using looms. Guest artists will give a short talk about their work, followed by a practical demonstration on how their speciality can be mixed with the woven material made on the looms. The aim of the workshops is to establish a local fibre based creative community, and create videos of the demonstrations, to share some of the knowledge to our online community.
Talks and workshops will be scheduled on a monthly basis over the course of the summer. Each workshop will have a talk and demonstration, followed by a hands-on practical learning of the techniques, culminating in a small finished piece the participants can take away with them.
