Strands of Home with Rough Draft Poetry
Rough Draft Poetry Presents: Strands of Home - an evening exploring hair as home through the lens of a woman.
Strands of Home is a women's interactive poetry performance taking place in the Swords Castle Chapel on Thursday, 28th May, from 6-8pm: "a gathering where we explore what home feels like in our bodies, our hair, our shared histories, and the places we return to, to find comfort when the world gets loud. The only requirement we have is that you come as you are, and let your hair down. Care is given and received through the hands, stories, and voices of the women present."Poets and artists include: Tanya Bridgeman, Ines Tola, London Lauderdale, Debbie Shonowo, Sara Aguisoul, Tamilore Rivera, Leah Minto, and Alymat Salam.
Together, we'll reflect on:
- What our hair looks like, running freely in verses on the way home
- The odyssey of the women we were, we are now, and the ones we are becoming
- How we won’t be defined by our hair alone
See you there!
