Story2Remember: A Creative Training Workshop

Join Engaging Dementia for this workshop aimed at training community volunteers to lead interactive, creative sessions for people living with dementia and their family members. This workshop is aimed at healthcare professionals, social workers, and dementia café coordinators who are interested in exploring creative, person-centred approaches to working with people living with dementia or memory issues.

Story2Remember is a one-day workshop for people living with dementia in the community and their family members, combining storytelling, reminiscence and creativity (simple poetry/drama) to improve communication as well as have some fun!

The training, a train the trainer model, will be led by Séamus Quinn and Caroline Coffey, who were both part of the original Erasmus project to develop the programme. Séamus is a researcher, facilitator and creative lead for S.T.AGE – Respect to Prevent and Story2Remember, both European Commission funded human rights activation programmes for older adults and professional carers. He has worked extensively with NGO’s, Charities, Corporations, Universities, Government bodies and individuals both national and internationally. Caroline is a researcher, co-developer and trainer of multiple Erasmus+ projects within the Gaiety School of Acting as part of their Educate and Outreach programme.
