"Paper Ecosystems" is a collaborative papercraft project by artist Eva O'Byrne. This project, to be carried out in Galway city in summer 2026, invites members of the community to join a series of four free workshops. In the workshops, participants will be guided through the art of making pop-up books. 

Each workshop will explore different core techniques of pop-up book making,
such as different types of folds and movable elements. Through nature walks and plein air sketching, participants will be encouraged to take inspiration for their pop-up books from Galway's plant ecosystems. The project will culminate in a public display of work created by participants of the workshops. 

These workshops are open to all persons over the age of 18. No prior experience is required. This project may be of interest to those who would like to try a new art form, or who would like to immerse themselves in the biodiversity of Galway city, or both.
