Reconnecting Through Creativity & Culture is a community focused creative wellbeing programme for individuals supported by Galway Simon Community, and who may be accessing emergency accommodation, transitional housing, community outreach, and social inclusion services. The project promotes personal wellbeing and social connection through art therapy, heritage engagement, and creative exploration, encouraging participants to take an active role in Galway City’s cultural life.

The programme will offer a series of facilitated art therapy retreats, creative day trips, and guided visits to cultural and heritage sites. Workshops and group activities will provide opportunities for relaxation, self expression, confidence building, and shared experience. Activities include painting, craft, and nature based creative practice, alongside visits to museums, historical sites, and natural landscapes. All sessions will be led by qualified practitioners and tailored to participants’ abilities and needs, with reflective exercises supporting emotional resilience and personal growth.

The programme will run throughout 2026, with several retreat days, monthly cultural or heritage trips, and blocks of ongoing creative workshops to allow for consistent engagement and deeper retreat style experiences.
