As part of the Galway Pride Week, we will call upon the LGBTQIA+ communities of Galway City and County to join us in building our creative community block for the Pride Parade. Building on our 2025 Immersive Pride Parade Project, we will collaborate with the community in realizing the rebirth of our Phoenix. 

Throughout a full day workshop, Pride will facilitate a craft Meitheal where participants will engage in a variety of crafts ahead of the parade. From puppet dressing to screen printing and collaborating with Queer Verse to facilitate writing workshops - participants will offer their hands and words to the Phoenix using salvaged scrap fabric and mixed media. 

The Phoenix will then be processed through the streets of Galway for the parade, alongside our Pride drumming troupe. Building on last year's project we will facilitate 6 weeks of drumming workshops using the drums we constructed last year. The drumming workshops would run from June into July ahead of the Pride Parade on August 8th and would be held in an open hall venue in Galway City. The Craft Meitheal would be on during Pride Week in workshop spaces across Galway City.
