Nature is our Future

Nature is Our Future is a collaborative, school-based creative project led by pupils from 1st to 6th class in Morning Star Boys National School, exploring biodiversity and environmental awareness through public art.

Guided by their Green Council and supported by a professional mural artist, students will work together to design and create a vibrant biodiversity-themed mural within their school grounds. Inspired by local flora and fauna, the artwork will reflect the children’s ideas about nature, sustainability, and the importance of caring for their environment.

The project places young people at the centre of the creative process, empowering them to take on leadership roles as organisers, designers, and collaborators. Through workshops and shared decision-making, participants will build confidence, develop creative skills, and deepen their understanding of their local environment.

Engaging the wider school community and families, the mural will become a lasting visual celebration of place, creativity and environmental stewardship. By combining art and climate awareness, Nature is Our Future supports wellbeing, encourages participation, and fosters a strong sense of pride and connection within the Ballyphehane community.
