Women’s Voices in Colour
Women’s Voices in Colour is an intercultural collaborative arts project that celebrates the cultural diversity of County Clare.
Led by artist Hanna Kovalova and the VIRA Intercultural Women's Community, this initiative brings together women from diverse backgrounds, including local residents, refugees, and migrants, to explore their shared and evolving identities.
Through a series of five creative workshops, participants will engage in a unique Mixed Media Collaboration. The process focuses on Cultural Motif Prototyping, where women use traditional symbols, national ornaments, and personal colour palettes to tell their stories.
Using a combination of watercolour, gouache, and graphic elements, the group will work together on Collaborative Mural Mapping to codesign a large-scale conceptual sketch.
This final artwork will serve as the foundation for a future community mural, planned for 2027. By blending individual "voices" into a unified visual narrative, the project fosters social inclusion, encourages intercultural dialogue, and enriches the vibrant cultural landscape of Ennis and County Clare.
The workshops will take place every Monday from June 29th to July 27th.
