Shared Visions is the RCC’s flagship engagement programme focused on bringing visual art to young people and outreach groups who may face cultural, social, or economic barriers to participation. Rooted in the values of equity and inclusion, the programme uses RCC’s curated exhibitions as a platform for creative exchange and community connection.

This project will focus on the National Portrait Prize, and will be delivered in collaboration with winning artist Daniel Nelis. Daniel, the first Donegal artist to win the national prize, will co-develop and deliver hands-on workshops and guided tours in partnership with local groups including Donegal International Protection Accommodation Services, Cara House Family Resource Centre, BeakOut, Donegal Art Teachers’ Association, and Donegal Active Retirement.

Workshops combine artmaking with conversation and reflection, culminating in participant-created works being exhibited in our workshop gallery. This visibility fosters ownership, pride, and a sense of belonging within the cultural life of the region. Shared Visions plays a vital role in developing Donegal’s future audiences,  encouraging engagement among those who may never have stepped into a gallery before.
