The purpose is to enhance wellbeing. 50 cards with names, short biographies and photographs of ‘famous’ people will be printed on A5 Cards. The cards are designed for reminiscence sessions and gatherings of older people, for enjoyment in social settings and to assist people with memory loss. The set of illustrated Reminiscence A5 size cards will be designed for reminiscence sessions and creative events for older people in our communities. For example, the cards can be a tool to use with people who have gathered together in social situations such as day centres, nursing homes or local cultural venues. 

The cards will be designed to allow older people travel ‘down memory lane’ by recalling famous and well known people (both past and present) from Donegal, Ireland and further afield. They will allow people to tell stories of their own past and to engage with their peers in a manner that is both relaxed, friendly and enjoyable.

Specifically, the cards can be used as a tool to assist people with memory loss or dementia. They may help evoke longer term memories of people’s own lives, experiences, interests, family etc. When used in a social setting, they can help improve mood, enhance communication, and increase social interaction.
