Creative Youth – in our communities

The Creative Youth Plan also recognises the need to continue young peoples’ engagement with creativity outside school.

– that provision of enhanced access to creative activities within our communities and homes also has a vital role to play to the ongoing personal development of our young citizens. The Creative Youth Plan commits to give every child practical access to tuition, experience and participation in art, music, drama and coding by 2022 – we recognise the need to provide greater opportunities for children and young people to engage with creativity, to discover and hone their innate creative abilities throughout their daily lives.

Creative Youth is supporting the further development and growth of provision in a range of creative activities – the provision of greater access to youth theatre, developing new ways to enhance the delivery of group singing, supporting creative writing initiatives in partnership with Fighting Words, enabling the nationwide roll-out of Music Generation and together with the Education and Training boards in Kerry, Limerick/Clare and Laois/Offaly we have set up new Local Creative Youth Partnerships.
