Creative Youth – in our schools

Creative Youth is more than just the latest “scheme” or “programme” aimed at providing greater access to artistic and cultural creativity activities.

Our aim is more audacious and ambitious: it is to help promote a learning environment in which knowledge and creativity are equal partners in the formation of our young people — where schools can support creativity and innovation in teaching and learning in an integrated way.

Putting creativity, arts and culture at the centre of education is vital in helping young people to develop new skills – to cultivate a diverse, accessible and creative cultural ecosystem that sustains wellbeing for all.

Creative Youth is initiating and supporting a range of programmes and projects to meet this challenge – such as Creative Schools, Creative Clusters, the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals’ Creative Engagement Programme and the continued implementation of the Arts in Education Charter and the Arts in Education Portal.
